Our Why – It Was an Obsession…
…with the reasons why CRMs fail us and helping others overcome the fundamental issues causing these failures. Having implemented dozens of CRM solutions it was clear there is a path for success, but it was unclear as to why others were unable to realize it.
For 10+ years I had been investigating, inquiring, unearthing and intensely studying the failures of businesses’ CRMs. Starting with the big systems like Siebel and Oracle which were monsters to tame and get right, this led to investigating smaller more dedicated solutions to determine if the issues were the same. While different in size, the problems continued to persist across all platforms.
Somewhere around 2012/2013 the term marketing operations started to come to light and that was the trigger to formally develop solutions for marketing and sales. It was clear that the challenges with CRMs would propagate further as marketing became the caretakers of CRMs. The obsession grew which led to the development of 3 proven, fundamental principles of CRM solution designs – processes, data and metrics and value-added designs (i.e. ROI).
Having done virtually every job in marketing & sales I saw firsthand how bad CRMs, poor processes, and data metrics affected good teams. Sometimes from simple annoyance to mutiny of systems that were supposed to make our lives more productive. It was extremely frustrating to see my sales & marketing colleagues struggle to follow the mandates from corporate on a new system and still meet their objectives. This unnecessary battle drove a passion for seeing others succeed. Not just fixing issues but developing and driving ideas that helped others become the best at what they do. It was also clear that while I had a good sales ethic my real talent was making others highly successful by removing barriers to success. Whether a salesperson, demand gen team or an executive, it becomes a fervor to help them surpass their goals. All this led to what you see here, Trinsx, and its dedication to helping others become highly successful.
